Goldenrod Tincture

Goldenrod (Solidago) Tincture - 2 fl oz (60 mL)

Made with the fresh stems, leaves and flowers of the goldenrod plant. 

Goldenrod is a diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial plant containing antioxidants that has been traditionally used for sinus issues, allergies, inflammation, digestive issues, toxin secretion, and wound healing.

Some notable conditions goldenrod has helped alleviate include arthritis, colds and flu, urinary tract infections, kidney stones, eczema and minor wounds.

Precautions: Those with Asteraceae allergies should exercise caution with goldenrod. Goldenrod may have high latex content, so avoid using if you have a latex allergy. Goldenrod might increase the amount of sodium in the body which can make high blood pressure worse. Since goldenrod is a diuretic, it may increase the effects of other diuretics you are taking. Use caution if you have any of these other conditions: low blood pressure (hypotension), osteoporosis, fluid retention due to heart or lung problems, heart or kidney disease, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Suggested Use: As with any healing agent, herbal tinctures can be quite powerful and adverse reactions are always possible. Make sure to take the time to educate yourself on the herb you’re using before you try it.

There isn’t a standard “dose” so it’s best to begin a new tincture by trying only a few drops and drinking it in water or warm tea once a day. You can then gradually increase the dose to 6-12 drops in water or juice or directly onto the tongue up to three times a day. 

Ingredients: hand-picked wild goldenrod (stems, leaves, & flowers), vodka.  

The black glass bottle is intended to help prevent the possibilities of light degradation and/or rapid evaporation. The tapered dropper helps to effectively control the dosage.

Keeping it Fresh: This tincture is relatively shelf-stable due to the alcohol content. However, storing it in the refrigerator or in a cool, dark area may help prolong its shelf-life.
